I hate clutter. It is seemingly inescapable in my life however. I have too many belongings: too much clothing, too many pots and pans, too many blankets even. Too much stuff, and no where to put it. At the very least, no where near enough storage to put everything away.
It gets frustrating. I clean and clean, but still something is out of place. I have created several containers and set them strategically around the apartment, so as to collect clutter, but I can't say its really working.
I need to spend more time organizing and consolidating. I have already skimmed everything down by a couple of boxes, but its not enough.
I must look through everything objectively, seeing what can be safely discarded and what can be given away. I don't know yet where to take the clothes that I would like to give away, but I have had the intention for quite some time now.
I seriously cannot move back to the States with this much stuff. Still, that is almost a year away still, so I have plenty of time to organize and get rid of some things.
Sigh.

Success, Triumph
The toilet works again! We were able to find a part that was exactly the same as the one that broke. Exactly! (It was a different color...) Now the toilet is working perfectly and there is no leak.
Mission to fix toilet: Accomplished.

Toilet Leaks, Breaks, Etc.
My toilet has been leaking for a little while, but I had procrastinated doing anything about it. Our bathroom is set up so that the shower is right next to the toilet and the entire room is tiled (no separate shower or even a raised area keeping the water in the shower area), so I haven't worried about it too much, I just got in the habit of turning off the water supply to the toilet.
It finally got worse and worse so that the tank wouldn't hold any water in it: it would flush but just leak out the rest of the water.
In looking up different things about toilet repair, I came across a tip that suggested that leaky tanks might be fixed by just checking all the bolts and such to see if they need to be tightened.
I found exactly where the problem was, but ended up breaking the offending piece. Now I need to try to find a whole new part (the intake valve, water fill valve or ball-cock).
I am pretty confident in my ability to figure out how to install the new part (once I get it). As my mother told me, its in my blood (my great-grandfather Leroy was a plumber). My parents are also very DIY kind of people and I think it passed down to me as well.
On the same note, but different part of the toilet, I ended up breaking the toilet tank lid into 2 pieces (aaagghhh!!!!). I am sooooo hoping that I can glue it back together. I understand its next to impossible to replace just the lid. I need to figure out a way to clamp the pieces together once I have some appropriate glue.
I have my work cut out for me.
